Asger Harbou Gjerdevik's "Pyramid" is a sculpture that delves into themes of solitude, loss, and longing. The black patinated bronze casts a silhouette of quiet contemplation, inviting viewers into a narrative layered with meaning and emotion. With a textured, detailed surface, Gjerdevik creates a story within his work. With each engraving, rough texture, and indent, he is guiding the viewer to experience the different details of themes of solitude and loss. His attention to detail invites viewers to look closely and engross themselves in the changing texture and form of this piece.

"Pyramid" moves across the boundaries of material and theme, showing Gjerdevik's ability to work in different mediums. The sculpture works to create a connection with itself and the viewer, asking the viewer to think deeply and personally when looking at art.

Asger Harbou Gjerdevik

Asger Harbou Gjerdevik works across painting and sculpture and is known for his bold, curious approach to materials and form. His work often feels spontaneous and full of energy—mixing playful shapes, rough textures, and a love for the unpredictable. He builds things up, takes them apart again, and lets each piece find its own direction.

There’s something both familiar and strange in his art. You might recognize a shape, a rhythm, or a feeling—but nothing is spelled out. His pieces leave space for you to wonder, to make your own connections, and to enjoy the ride without needing to explain it.

Asger’s art has been shown in galleries and institutions across Europe, and his works are part of several public collections. What makes his practice stand out is not just how things look, but how they feel—honest, raw, and completely his own.

For Solenne, Asger created Pyramid—a small bronze sculpture with a big personality. It’s sharp and solid, but it doesn’t take itself too seriously. It could be ancient, or it could be a doodle turned into metal. Like much of Asger’s work, it holds a sense of humor and mystery at the same time.
