Dimensions: 21 x 21 x 20 cm

"Borderline Syndrome" by Frederik Næblerød is worked in deep blue and green patinated bronze, and its form reads as a state of mind held in metal. The colours and textures reward a close look, and each cast in the edition is patinated by hand, so the shades of blue and green vary from example to example.

Næblerød (b. 1988, Frederiksberg, Denmark) holds an MFA from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. His sculptures are held in public collections, including Horsens Kunstmuseum, and his work features at ARKEN Museum of Contemporary Art in his 2026 exhibition "ALL WALKS OF LIFE."

Delivery: Stock changes often. Some examples are in stock in Copenhagen for immediate delivery; when an example is not in stock, the work is cast to order with a lead time of 8 to 10 weeks.

Frederik Næblerød

Frederik Næblerød is a Danish artist known for his raw, fearless approach to painting, sculpture, and performance. His work is loud, messy, and full of life—driven by emotion, instinct, and a need to push things to the edge. Whether he’s painting with his hands, carving wood, or building chaotic installations, there’s a strong physical presence in everything he creates.

Næblerød’s universe is filled with strange creatures, wild faces, and twisted bodies. The colors are intense, the lines are rough, and nothing is polished. But underneath the surface chaos, there’s always a deep sense of urgency—like the work is trying to say something that can’t be put into words.

He often works fast and freely, letting the process lead the way. It’s not about perfect planning—it’s about capturing a moment, a feeling, or a burst of energy before it disappears. This gives his work a kind of raw honesty that’s impossible to fake.

Over the past years, Næblerød has made a name for himself as one of the most distinctive voices in the Nordic art scene. His work has been shown at ARKEN and Charlottenborg and is included in the permanent collections of the National Gallery of Denmark and the Danish Arts Foundation.

In a time where much art feels overly careful, Frederik Næblerød’s work stands out for being the exact opposite: wild, personal, and completely alive.
